The HPB press brake features 4-axis, dual Y1 & Y2 ram with glass scales for accuracy, and Delem graphical touch screen controllers for programming and setup.

A rigid upper beam runs on 8-point bearings with 0.01mm (0.0004") precision with a 2-axis, ultra-strong back gage system with 800mm (31") travel and 0.01mm (0.0004") repeatability. A 6-axis ATF dual independent back gage for complex bends is also available. The bend is controlled by a CNC controller and foldable back gage fingers for reverse bending. Hoerbieger hydraulics provide synchronized working of hardened chrome-coated cylinders with up to 2,000 tons of pressure across 4ft to 20ft of bending length. The press includes quick-release clamping with Promecam-type top clamps to ensure rapid, accurate bends.

High-volume gun drilling

The DeHoff 518 Cell gun drilling cell uses nine gun-drilling spindles to drill opposing holes. The larger diameter, shorter hole is produced first, using three gun-drilling spindles on a single machine base. The smaller diameter, deeper hole is produced next using six gun-drilling spindles (two separate machine bases with three spindles each). More spindles are dedicated to the deeper hole because of its longer cycle time, resulting in a balanced throughput for each gun-drilling operation.

The 518 Cell has a 0.5" (12.7mm) gun-drilling capacity and an 18" (457mm) slide travel. The machine features a cast iron drill head base with hardened and ground steel boxways. Hand-scraped and fitted saddle, gibs, and straps deliver vibration damping, extended tool life, improved accuracy, and consistent surface finish.

    Twin spindle ID grinder

    The EGM-350CNC twin spindle ID grinder combines an ID spindle with a secondary spindle capable of face, shoulder, and OD grinding, as well as boring with a boring bar prior to the ID grind. With maximum grinding diameter of 15" and maximum grinding depth of 10", this multi-spindle design grinds flanges, bearing races, and other parts requiring the grinding of different locations on a single part. The ID spindle design uses a cartridge-type, motor-driven spindle enabling easy changeover; ID spindles can range from 10,000rpm to 50,000rpm while maintaining the same motor-driven design.

    Horizontal machining center

    Workholding systems

    Photo-activated adhesive workholding systems secure parts for tight-tolerance machining and inspection, and reduce the number of operations, scrap, and labor. Apply BlueGrip workholding adhesive to grippers and spot cure by ultraviolet light for 60 seconds before 5-axis machining. Once done, the part debonds with a one-quarter turn of the gripper. Residual adhesive is removed with pressurized steam or hot water spray and a light peeling action.

    Laser measuring system

    Tool monitoring system

    The TMAC 3.0 is a tool monitoring adaptive control system that uses sensors for power, vibration, or strain to measure tool wear. By measuring tool wear in real-time, TMAC will automatically expire a tool if excessive wear is detected (and can signal a redundant tool) or immediately stop the machine and retract the tool in the event of breakage.

    TMAC optimizes almost any cutting operation, mitigating specific manufacturing challenges with difficult-to-machine materials by overriding the machine tool feed rate to make adjustments based on the cutting power load of the tool; increasing feed rate with low-power cuts and decreasing with high-power cuts and as tools wear. Real-time adaptive control feed rate adjustments optimize the cutting process, extending tool life and reducing cycle time up to 60%.

    TMAC uses a separate high-speed processor to process data from multiple sensors including power, vibration, strain, coolant pressure, coolant flow, and spindle speed. Users can overlay cutting data to compare cuts, interrogate alarms and events, and more.

    5-axis CNC grinder

    The 325linear 5-axis CNC grinder with extended X- and Y-axis movement has two auxiliary slides for workpiece clamping and improved grinding wheel guidance across the entire machining envelope. The 2,500rpm to 4,000rpm machine accommodates gun drills, hob cutters, micro tools, and complex geometries.     Optical 3D surface metrology systems

    MarSurf CM optical 3D surface metrology systems feature confocal technology with 16-bit high definition resolution (HDR) technology for high-resolution 3D surface topography data and insight into surface structures and processing.

    Tool grinder

    VGrind 360 features enhanced travel distances for machining carbide tools up to 100mm diameter. With two vertical spindles, it allows tool manufacturers to precisely produce large numbers of milling cutters, drills, etc., with blanks made from solid carbide or high-speed steel (HSS). Automated solutions, such as an 8-wheel pack changer, wheel compensation, and a free-arm robot allow unattended machining.

    With five CNC axes, the VGrind 360 achieves interpolation with short travel distances for the linear axes and swivel ranges. An optional tool magazine with eight grinding wheel packages ensures automatic changeover of vertical spindle tools.     Horizontal machining center
