Precision positioning devices manufacturer RPI UK installed two integrated rotor measurement and assembly platforms (iMAPs) at Delta Airlines’ maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Atlanta, Georgia. The Rolls-Royce-approved facility performs MRO of all Trent engines in the United States.
Wyvern Industrial Technology LLC (RPI’s U.S. distributor) and Paris Mountain Consulting (RPI’s U.S. technical software support provider) assisted with the installation, and both companies will provide service.
RPI also supplied Delta with Trent series 03 and 04 module tooling sets to reduce setup times and improve measurement performance.
Delta technicians use iMAPs after engines are dismantled to inspect individual sections for cracks, wear, and distortion. Once components are approved, repaired, or replaced, the iMAP ensures each engine section’s alignment and concentricity are correct and balanced while the engine is rebuilt.

Jazeera Airways signs $1.3B engine services agreement
Jazeera Airways has reached a long-term, rate per flight hour (RPFH) agreement with CFM Int’l to support the 45 LEAP-1A engines that power the airline’s fleet of 20 Airbus A320neo aircraft. The agreement, valued at $1.3 billion, also covers five spare engines.

Glow-in-the-dark line of application, removal tools
Manufactured from a polymer that glows in the dark after being charged by a light source, Semco Glow-in-the-Dark (GID) tools by PPG are precision-molded application tools for sealants, adhesives, and other paste materials.
Designed to be used in areas where limited light is available, such as aircraft fuel tanks (center and wing) or vertical and horizontal stabilizers, GID technology aids operators in finding tools that are dropped or left behind in enclosed areas. The application and removal tools include standard and specialty nozzles, spatulas, scrapers, and packaging. Most tools are available in red, orange, or green – letting operators choose the option that best stands out from primers or other substrates.
