October 2019 Winner

Michael Kramer, Product Development Engineer, Carlisle Interconnect Technologies, Franklin, Wisconsin

How long have you been in the aerospace business? I’ve just finished my third year in aerospace and am looking forward to a long career in the industry.

How did you become interested in aircraft? Flight technology has always captured my imagination, but I think I first became truly fascinated after attending an aviation camp back in grade school.

What is your favorite aircraft and why? There’s been a special place in my heart for the Lockheed SR-71 ever since I first locked eyes on the one suspended above the lobby of the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, Kansas. It was truly an engineering masterwork that, even two full decades after its final retirement, remains largely unsurpassed in performance, complexity, and artistry.
