The Gyroflex multitasking machine flexibly handles low-volume and parts prototyping to high-volume, high-mixed production. Its LX-40 3-axis gantry robot enables unattended operation and fast parts handling. A hydraulic robot chuck provides stable clamping and workpiece handling using minimum space due to the thin-type, double-hand design. Esprit 3D CAD/CAM offers easy programming of complex parts and process combinations. A chip disposal design allows non-stop production.

Opposed twin spindles are positioned on Z-axis slideways with 960mm of stroke. The Z-axis slide moves at high speeds to reduce loading time to the second spindle.

Fixture plate line additions

The Zero Point System (ZPS) product range has expanded, adding six different pneumatic subplates, each featuring pre-installed low-pressure pneumatic clamping modules; three 2-module units and three 4-module units suit different machine table configurations. The pneumatic subplates are constructed of Fremax 15 steel (or equivalent) and include quick connects for changeover speed and porting for blowout between machining cycles. System repeatability is less than 0.005mm (0.0002").

Aluminum or steel fixture plates with pre-installed pull-studs are included. The two-stud model has one ZPS stud and one timing stud. The four-stud model contains ZPS and timing studs plus two additional clearance studs.

Dampening precision boring heads

Two smaller sizes of the EWN Smart Damper precision boring heads eliminate vibration in deep-hole finish boring. The additions are now available in diameters less than 1.260",  as small as 0.787".
The modular CK/CKB system allows for versatility in tool length combinations, up to a maximum of 10x diameter, and can run on nearly
every major spindle interface. All tools are coolant-through and have three insert holder options per head size. The analog head features a dial with 0.0005"/div setting accuracy (0.0001" w/Vernier).

The design shortens the distance from the damping mechanism to the cutting edge, which is the source of vibration, producing higher damping effects to the tool assembly to minimize chatter or vibration, providing better surface finishes and improved metal removal rates.

Digital microscope

The Visioner 1 digital microscope Micro-mirror Array Lens System (MALS) enables all-in-one focus in real time. With its extended depth of field (DOF), users can see the sample in focus without combining focal planes from a series of images or post-processing them, simplifying imaging and documentation and accelerating inspection and throughput.

MALS is a micro-electro-mechanical system (MEMS) with 100µm x 100µm mirrors that can each be adjusted to generate virtual lenses with different curvatures to focus planes. This allows the digital microscope to sharply image any point on the sample, resulting in 100x greater extended DOF than conventional digital microscopes. It also provides the ability to optically inspect for height differences up to 69mm without moving the optical system or refocusing the sample. 3D information of the sample is visible at a glance, enabling faster, more reliable inspection.
