The updated ABC machine turns out simple to moderately complex parts up to 15% faster than the previous generation thanks to rapid spindle acceleration up to 8g, shorter spindle ramp-up times, higher rapid traverse rates, and quick chip-to-chip times.
For 5,000 to 50,000 part runs in the 42mm to 60mm range, the machine supports a low production cost per piece. Up to 19 tools are available for flexible machining with live tools for both turrets.
Simultaneous machining with up to three tools supports short cycle times. The ABC is equipped with up to five driven back-working tools in all turret positions. The machine is available in 2-, 3-, or 4-axis versions. The motorized 27kW, 6,000rpm spindle can generate up to 95N-m of torque.
Mounted above the main spindle, the upper turret is used mainly for ID work. The lower turret is typically for OD work. A synchronized spindle operates in the upper turret. Both turrets feature a rapid traverse of 36m/min.
The ABC can handle heavy-duty polygon turning and thread milling with a counter spindle or drive attachment. An optional Index bar loader can save up to 30 seconds per cycle, and automatic part unloader automation is also available.
A Siemens S840D sl control offers economic and productive solutions, and the operating system with the Index C200-4D CNC is equipped with the Index Xpanel i4.0 and 18.5" touch screen.
The operating system focuses on optimal control of the machine, providing a direct connection between the machine control and the operations department within the company.
Xpanel integrates into existing network structures so drawings, setup sheets, user manuals, circuit and hydraulic diagrams are available on the machine.
Stabilizer 2.0 cutters have continuous variable asymmetrical geometries and provide smooth and chatter-free performance that allow feed rates to be doubled. Since they handle 2x the chip load capacity, cutters can shorten part machining cycle times and boost productivity. An advanced AlTiN coating resists heat and abrasion to optimize tool life.
A modification program is offered for quick turnarounds on modifications of the new tool.

The In-Sight VC200 series multi smart camera vision system overcomes the slower performance of traditional multi-camera systems that share the same processer because the processing power increases with each additional camera, expanding the number of multi-camera inspection applications. This improved performance helps keep pace with fast-moving production lines and provides the flexibility of sequential or asynchronous inspections.
A customizable, web-enabled, human-machine interface provides monitoring and control through password-protected access levels. Operators can view inspections, controls engineers can modify parameters, and plant managers can review performance statistics simultaneously from any device with a web browser.
Included In-Sight Explorer software’s graphical workflow simplifies vision applications by separating the inspection steps into manageable tool blocks. It also provides access to PatMax Redline, OCRMax, and other In-Sight vision tools through a spreadsheet interface.
