The business will continue as a development partner and manufacturer of advanced linear motion and actuation products while creating integrated systems to extend cobot capability and replace traditional fluid power devices with safer, more reliable and energy efficient solutions.

TE Connectivity completes Silicon Microstructures acquisition

Measurement Specialties Inc., a subsidiary of TE Connectivity Ltd. (TE), has completed the previously announced acquisition of Silicon Microstructures Inc. (SMI) from Elmos Semiconductor AG.

SMI’s micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) sensor technology design and manufacturing capabilities expand TE’s pressure sensing technology for a range of applications.

SMI will now be reported as part of TE’s Sensor Solutions business.

Cahill to lead Lockheed Martin’s international operations

Lockheed Martin officials have appointed Timothy Cahill to senior vice president of Lockheed Martin Int’l. Cahill succeeds Richard Edwards, who will become strategic advisor to the CEO.

“Tim brings extensive international experience to his new position, having worked with customers in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East,” says Chairman, President, and CEO Marillyn Hewson.

Since 2016, Cahill has served as vice president, Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems, Missiles and Fire Control (MFC). He joined Lockheed Martin in 1995 as an engineer in Space Systems’ Special Programs.

Edwards led Lockheed Martin Int’l since January 2018. He previously served as MFC executive vice president.

Boeing management changes

Boeing management named Stan Deal to succeed Kevin McAllister as president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes and Ted Colbert to succeed Deal as president and CEO of Boeing Global Services. Vishwa Uddanwadiker will serve in Colbert’s former role as interim chief information officer (CIO) and senior vice president of Information Technology & Data Analytics.

“We’re committed to delivering on our commitments and regaining trust with our regulators, customers, and other stakeholders,” Boeing President and CEO Dennis Muilenburg says.

Deal joined Boeing in 1986 and led Boeing Global Services from its establishment in November 2016 as a third business unit of the company. Previously, he led Commercial Airplanes’ supply chain and was sales leader for the Asia-Pacific region.

Colbert joined Boeing in 2009 and served as CIO and senior vice president of Information Technology & Data Analytics.

Uddanwadiker was most recently the vice president of Information Technology for Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

Boeing officials now expect the 737 MAX airliner, troubled by software problems and grounded worldwide since March 2019, to return to airline service early in 2020.
